Dolphin shelling

Long story short: scientists have discovered a dolphin behavior called "shelling," in which a dolphin chases a fish into an empty shell, brings it to the surface, and shakes the fish out of the shell and into its mouth. Unlike most dolphin skills, learned from their mothers, shelling is acquired by mimicking the movements of unrelated peers.

boj Easter egg hiding in plain sight for many years

See what I did here?

A long time ago I decided to see if anyone would notice a subtle Easter egg in my "What is it?" feature.

Often I relabel "What is it?" photos to amuse those who linger with their cursor over the picture long enough to bring up the label.

Above, the Easter egg revealed.

No one has ever remarked on this feature, though a couple times a year a reader will mention that the identity of the object in a "What is it?" post is right there on the screen in the label.
