From the website:

Explore the ancient Greek city of Mycenae in a newly released digital archive.

Mycenae was a place of considerable power and a key site of the Mycenaean civilisation in the Late Bronze Age (c. 1600-1100 BCE).

The stories associated with this site and its remains would go on to play a vital role in classical Greek culture as a source of inspiration in art and literature.

Mycenae was part of a complex Bronze Age society with impressive architecture, and complex arts and crafts.

'Scuse me while I kiss this guy

The headline is the title of a great book compiling misheard rock song lyrics.

I've been making up my own best approximations since I started listening to AM radio back in the day.

Below, what I heard when I listened to Deep Purple's "Smoke On The Water" (1972):

We all came out to Mumford

On a lady me with shoreline.

To make records with Motown

We didn't have much time.

It burned down a gamblin' house

It died with an awful sound.

But funky cars was running in and out,

Pulling kids outa ground.

When it all was over

We had to find another place.

Swiss time was running out

It seemed that we would lose the race.

We ended up at the Grand Hotel

It was empty, cold and dead.

But when the Rolling front Stones

Playing just outside making a music fest.

With a few red lights a few old bids

We made a place to sweat

No matter what we get outa this

I know we'll never forget.

Below, the actual lyrics.

Experts' Experts: Old tires can be deadly

Long story short: it's not just the wear that matters: rubber degrades over time regardless of use or exposure.

Ever notice that an old rubber band is stiff and breaks easily?

nuf sed.

But I digress.

Car makers recommend new tires after 6 years; tire manufacturers say 10.

There are two things that will — out of the blue, without any other vehicle being involved — kill you while driving: tire failure and brake failure.

But you say, "How do I know how old my tires are?"

Well, that's why you pay me the big $, isn't it?

For tires made after 2000, the last four numbers after DOT on your tires' sidewalls tell you when they were made: the first two digits are the month and the last two are the year (top).

Fair warning.

Who knew grass was so versatile?

First a whistle, now this.

Ballpoint pen with black ink.
