'Scuse me while I kiss this guy — Episode 2

Yesterday's post featured my mangled lyrics for "Smoke On The Water."

Today I turn my attention to "Show Me The Way," Peter Frampton's 1975 megahit.

What I heard on the radio:

I wonder how you're feeling

There's ringing in my ears

And no one to relate to

'cept the sea

look at my believin'

I'm kneeling on the floor

There has to be a force

Who do I call

When I can't see no reason

There's every time you're deaf

When someone drops the cup

And I submerge

I'm swimming in a circle

I feel I'm going down

There has to be a force

To play my part

The actual lyrics:

Actually, not that far off compared to the complete hash I made of "Smoke On The Water."

When Snakes Fly

YouTube caption:

Flying snakes glide through the air, flattening their bodies to provide lift.

But as they glide they seem to swim, undulating their bodies from side to side.

Now a team in the U.S. has used motion capture technology to study snake gliding in precise detail.

Their models reveal that undulation is vital for the snake’s stability as they glide from branch to branch.

Nice explanatory article here.

Abstract of the original scientific paper, "Undulation enables gliding in flying snakes," published in Nature Physics, here.
