"A Gentleman in Moscow" and "Rules of Civility — Amor Towles

I'd never heard of Amor Towles before coming across a favorable mention of his 2016 novel "A Gentleman in Moscow."

I bought the book and read it and I must say I've never read anything quite like it.

Towles has a very sharp wit and bracing originality, both laced with acid humor.

Wonderful.

I was only about a quarter of the way through before I ordered "Rules of Civility," his 2011 debut novel.

It too was an excellent read.

You can read the opening pages of both on Amazon.

Twice recommended in one week.

My 97YO dad loved it, too.
