AirPods Easter Egg

I like to watch the U.S. Open on my iPad Pro (above, left) rather than TV for several reasons:

1) The clear, bright, and detailed picture is breathtaking

2) The audio on the iPad is excellent; adding AirPods Pro takes it to another level. Every ball impact with racquets and court, net cord, squeak of sliding shoes, muttering and vocalizations by players, jumps into my head. Turning on noise cancellation makes it even better.

3) It's much easier to do other stuff on my computer while I watch than when watching it on TV: I can position the iPad on a level with my laptop so that there's no vertical change in focal points when going from screen to screen (top, during a night match; both screens are about 9 inches above my desk) nor do I need to refocus from my TV screen six feet  away to my up-close laptop.

4) I can carry the iPad around the house and still watch while I make my bed, clean the litter box, etc.

5) Finally, the Easter egg: the AirPods stay connected to the iPad anywhere in my house, so I can walk around and do stuff that occurs to me without having to carry the iPad around and still not miss a point.

Solar-Powered Sunglasses

Screen Shot 2020-09-08 at 10.43.26 AM

What took so long?

From websites:

To fight the blinding power of sudden shifts in light — like when a road cyclist rolls into a tunnel — POC put solar panels in the lenses of these Italian-made shades.

The Aspire Solar Switch detects light intensity and then, using the power of that light, electronically adjusts the tint to match.

The shift from light amber/gray to a dark gray tint in sunlight happens continuously without requiring action by the rider.

$400; apply within.
