You're right, when it's down to 1/8th of an inch or so I'll get another roll and unwrap it, then set it on the tank ready to go. I used to put the new roll on and juggle the old one till it was gone, but discovered late at night, early in the morning, and high noon, I don't juggle for shit(no pun). Then it would roll away and as soon as it was out of reach, start unspooling as it went. That's wasteful.

Could be thrifty... Use till there's absolutely no more and then replace!
