Nylon Floats — Thomas Jackson

Thomas Jackson creates clouds of color

that hover over the beaches

of the California coast.

When I first happened on his work (top photo) for a sec I thought I'd walked into the middle of a video game.

Helpful Hints from joeeze: Free TV

You know how most streaming channels like Hulu, HBO and their ilk offer free trials lasting anywhere from a week to a month before the monthly subscription fee kicks in?

There's always this catch in fine print: "New & eligible returning subscribers only"

Turns out you're a new subscriber if you use a new email address.

Most everyone's got several, so here's a chance to trot out that Earthlink.net or Yahoo.com antique.

Try it, you'll like it.

From the Guardian:

Dead Sea Scroll Fragments and 'World's Oldest Basket' Found in Desert Cave

After a years-long dig across dozens of caves and cliffs, the Israeli Antiquities Authority (IAA) said it had discovered a six-millennia-old skeleton of a child and a basket (above and below) it described as the oldest in the world, at over 10,000 years, dating it to the pre-pottery Neolithic period.

"As far as we know, this is the oldest basket in the world that has been found completely intact and its importance is, therefore, immense," the IAA said.

It was unearthed in the Murabaat Cave in the Judean Desert.
