'Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry'

True confession: I'd never heard a Billie Eilish song until I watched this movie.

Released two months ago, it's a bio-documentary that's shot primarily in her longtime family home, with lots of her mom and dad and her songwriting partner, her brother Finneas.

A lot of songwriting and music making takes place right in their home studio, which was where all the songs on her multiple Grammy Award-winning debut album were recorded.

The film follows her rise from Spotify phenomenon to Grammy Award winner just as she turned 18 in late 2019.

We go on tour with her from time to time, both in the U.S. and the rest of the world, and there's lots of concert footage.

She is absolutely amazing at being herself in the face of what Joni Mitchell termed "the star maker machinery."

The crushing pressure of being "always on" in public and the bright spotlight that never stops following superstars is captured wonderfully in this picture.

I cannot understand how people like Eilish and Taylor Swift continue to be able to produce material under such glare.

Highly recommended.

One more thing: I really like her music.
