One-a-Day Bananas

Screen Shot 2021-07-22 at 2.25.53 PM

In South Korea, some stores package their bananas together in various ripeness stages so you can eat them over several days without them turning brown.

They call them "one-a-day" bananas.

Wait a sec — what's that music I'm hearing?

The best laid plans...

Having finished reading a novel yesterday, today I decided that — rather than select one of the five on my "to read" shelf — I'd instead read the first 25 pages of each one, then pick the one that most appealed to me to read in its entirety.

First was "The Insult" by Rupert Thomson, which was excellent.

I then picked up Jane Thynne's "The Words I Never Wrote," and by page 15 was so enchanted and absorbed I decided to bag my original plan and return "The Insult" and the other three ("Let It Come Down" by Paul Bowles; "The Last Assassin: The Hunt for the Killers of Julius Caesar," by Peter Stothard; and "This Eden" by Ed O'Loughlin) to the shelf.

You gotta be flexible to live in this world.
