TwelveSouth StayGo mini-hub
TwelveSouth makes excellent accessories, in my experience.
From websites:
TwelveSouth's StayGo mini USB-C hub brings 4 extra ports to your iPad or MacBook:
• USB
• HDMI
• USB-C
• Headphone jack
The ports can add external drives, pass-through power, external displays, headphones, speakers, or other peripherals.
The hub measures 2.8"L x 1.49"W x 0.3"H and has an aluminum exterior shell to dissipate heat.
It can be connected directly to your device or via the included 19-inch extension cable, essential if you are using any number of protective cases.
This device wasn't available when I got my MacBook Air last year; if it had been I might have bought it rather than the HyperDrive hub (below)
I opted for, since the TwelveSouth hub with its extension cable would work with my iPad Pro whereas the HyperDrive can't connect to the tablet due to its 2 USB-C connectors: in fact, it says right on the device that it's "For USC-C MacBook Pro."
On the other hand, mine works with SD cards, essential for boj purposes as I often use scans in my posts.
One more thing: Don't buy stuff like this on Amazon; always buy from the company's website.
Even if it's not as convenient as Prime and 1-Click and all, you know you'll be getting the real thing rather than running the risk of ending up with a counterfeit device, which happens and will cause you to gnash your teeth.
Just read the 1-Star comments on Amazon and you'll see what I mean.
