From Dia:

Nancy Holt's Sun Tunnels (1973–76) is located in the Great Basin Desert in northwestern Utah.

Composed of four concrete cylinders that are 18 feet in length and 9 feet in diameter, Sun Tunnels is arranged in an open cross format and aligned to frame the sun on the horizon during the summer and winter solstices.

In 2018 Dia Art Foundation acquired Sun Tunnels with support from the Holt-Smithson Foundation.

Dia is proud to be the owner and steward of Nancy Holt's Sun Tunnels.

We rely on your help to preserve this artwork for all of us now and for future generations.

Please leave Sun Tunnels and the natural environment exactly as you found it.

Visitors must "leave no trace" at the site. Carry out any waste with you. Do not tamper with the artwork, make fire pits, or trample vegetation.

'Wings of Hope'

I've been wanting to see this much praised 1998 film by Werner Herzog since forever but without success until yesterday when my Crack Research Team©® made a breakthrough.

After my decades of frustration, they found it on YouTube in segments.

Part 1/7 appears up top.

But wait: it gets better.

When I used the YouTube app on Apple TV, Part 1 segued into Part 2 and so on and so forth all the way to the end of the film/Part 7: I didn't have to do anything.

I just watched Part 1 in the viewer heading this post: no such joy.

But: when I went to YouTube and watched it there, this came up at the end of Part 1:

Try it, it might work that way for you.

If not, you can view each part on YouTube thusly:

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

Parts 6 & 7

The movie is even better than I'd imagined it would be and as is so often the case with Herzog's movies, his narration is spellbinding.

Best of all: it's free, the way we like it.

Many consider clothes or home textiles to be worn out because of lint and pilling.
