The Wall Street Journal wrote that "Balenciaga's $1,790 leather 'Trash Pouch,' the spitting image of a half-stuffed Hefty bag, has generated press everywhere from Fox Business to the home-décor blog Apartment Therapy. Reactions often note that for the same price as one saggy leather clutch, you can purchase about 6,500 genuine Heftys."

First debuted at Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2022 show in March of this year, the Trash Pouch was released August 8.
