Meet Desdemona

Screen Shot 2022-08-06 at 11.40.28 AM

Pictured above and below, she/it's the lead singer for Dr. Ben Goertzel's jazz fusion band.

Goertzel, who runs SingularityNET, for a second there thought she was sentient.

All this and much, much more about the rise of powerful AI and its acolytes is related in Cade Metz's superb New York Times story, which will provide you with a historical —  and future — context in which to place what exists and what is to come.

Can't quite get your head around all this?

I hear you.

Singularity.NET welcomes you.

I especially like the "Valis" poster behind Desdemona and Goertzel in the Times photo below.

For those not acolytes of Philip K. Dick, spiritual father figure of AI, "Valis" is the title of his 1981 novel.

It is an acronym for Vast Active Living Intelligence System, Dick's gnostic vision of God.

Luke -- You can't convince me that she wasn't styled to look like a fuckable 13-year-old. The old Grace model robot was designed to look a LOT more like a mature woman than this fuckable childbot.

Again, kinda disgusts me. This is Jaron Lanier / Richard Stallman level cringe...

Yep, Clif. A "real doll".
At the 23 second mark, you can see it's all about tits 'n' ass, but she's not 13.
Not really a surprise, but a little disturbing.

It is like someone made a real doll in the image of a 13-year-old and I'm feeling a little weird right now.

Go figure from someone that idolizes Ray Kurzweil...
