The difference between i.e. and e.g.

I always think:
I.E. = In other words
E.G. = for Example
I don't actually have a fancy acronym for them, just the "I" in "In" and the "E" in "Example" is enough for me to remember.
Hopefully I don't ever notice that there's an "E" in "I.E."
