Cloudflare's Tricked-Out Internet Speed Test
Instead of the usual calculation giving you a single number for your up and down speeds, Cloudflare's shows you real-time values over 30 seconds along with a zillion other measurements made simultaneously.
Quite soothing to watch and rerun over and over.
What I especially like is that you don't have to click a button to start: the moment the page opens, testing begins.
Free, the way we like it.
I wish there was a way to just let it run ad infinitum: might turn out to have ASMR qualities or serve to induce hypnosis or sleep.
Up top, my speeds.

DNS = Domain name server. It turns bookofjoe.com to something like 100.200.12.1. Sometimes when you put a new url in, the dns is slow and you sit there waiting for the actual address. Cloudflare or google are generally the fastest. You can change it on your router, or on the individual web browser in Chrome's case. It doesn't look like Safari has an over ride. It is under network settings for the mac, mine is pointing back to my router which is 192.168.1.1, but the router is set to use cloudflare rather than the ISP (Spectrum).

Typepad is experienced one of its regular FAILs right now which is why bookofjoe is frozen on yesterday's posts.
Get off the phone/tablet/computer and do something else!

I haven't a clue what DNS stands for.

Do you use cloudflare for DNS? That can make a difference too. It generally defaults to your ISP.
