Jimi Hendrix Live — 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" was released on Friday, June 2, 1967, and two days later — Sunday, June 4 — Hendrix opened his show at London's Savile Theatre, a small venue Brian Epstein used to run, with the title song.

Note that the performance up top is not from that show.

In his Rolling Stone interview Paul McCartney, who was in the audience along with George Harrison, Eric Clapton and other rock superstars, said that was the greatest compliment Hendrix ever paid him.
