Cento Caponata — It's Back!
Back when I lived in LA in the 60s/70s/80s, this wonderful canned mélange of eggplant, tomatoes, celery, olives, onions, capers, wine vinegar, and olive oil was one of my go-to staples.
After I moved to Virginia I couldn't find it anywhere.
Then it appeared on my Amazon page last week for no apparent reason.
Back then it came in a taller can than today's iteration, with much more blue in the label, but the instant I opened a can and inhaled, all the deliciousness of old flooded my senses.
Still made in Italy.
So good.
One 7 ounce can costs $6; 4 cans: $18.35; 12 cans: $38.99, all here.
