'Gloves' โ Meret Oppenheim
Designed 1942-1945, realized in 1985; goatskin with silkscreen print, hand stitched.
Sold at auction in 2022 for $12,150.
From the auction catalog: "On the inside of the right glove signed by the artist in black felt-tip pen 'Meret Oppenheim' and numbered '136/150'. Monogrammed 'M.O.' on the left glove. Inscribed in print on both gloves: 'PARKETT NO. 4/85 Vorzugsausgabe/Deluxe Edition'."
The artist is best known for her fur-lined cup and saucer (1936),
in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
