From the website:

If Watch Design Had Evolved Differently

Alternative history explores what might have happened if events and technological developments had been resolved differently than in real life.

If watch design had evolved differently, instead of commonly using hands and digital displays, all watches might display the time using numbers on revolving discs.

The drum movement used in the Rotar watch has three numbered discs that revolve independently of each other.

The time is always displayed and progresses automatically.

Limited production run.

A circular dial with moving pointers can convey more useful info at a glance than other instruments.
That's probably why clock displays stopped evolving long ago.

But I suppose if you have a chonky machine always hanging off your arm,
you can stare at it long enough to mentally convert the numbers
to a useful sense of time past and future.
