Less is more
My first Apple Watch was the 38mm Series 3 (the little one above), for which I paid $329 back in 2017 when it was released.
My most recent one is the Ultra 2 (the big one above), which cost me $799 last fall when it came out.
When I decide to wear one of them, it depends on what I'm using it for.
I use the little one — so light and small I forget I'm wearing it — for alarms and real-time heart rate when I'm chillin' with my cat Vanta.
The big boy is for running out in the great world while listening to music via AirPods; it's also an excellent portable phone, so much so that peeps I'm talking to can't tell I'm not using my iPhone.
You can get a refurbished — "Like new" — Series 3 for $149.
