Experts' Experts: Impossible Stains

P0

Jerry and his son Zach Pozniak run Jeeves New York, a luxury dry cleaning company.

In a Washington Post article they offered much useful information about their area of expertise; highlights follow.

Zach rattled off a list of what he calls "impossible stains" that just won't come out, no matter how much laundry expertise you may have.

Permanent marker (Sharpie)

Super glue

Oil paint

He continued: "Anything that a team of scientists and companies have poured enormous amounts of money into ensuring is permanent. These things are designed at their core functionality to not come out of anything."

And: "If there's ever any content creator that says they can get Sharpie out of a white cotton T-shirt, I'd love to bet them a large amount of money [they can't]."

Not as intractable but still extremely difficult to remove:

Strong dyes (red wine, beet juice)

Cooking grease and motor oil

Dried blood

Rust

Just. WOW.

Thomas Kole spent 18 months building it.

Q. What kind of evidence/sources were helpful in figuring out what Tenochtitlan looked like?

A. First, there are early colonial maps, such as the Mapa de Uppsala, which give us a decent understanding of the city. Then there are the accounts of the arriving Spanish. There is also archaeological evidence throughout Mexico City, though much has been actively destroyed.

Foldable Hanger Storage Bag

1

From the website:

There's no denying that the awkward shape of a coat hanger makes them that bit trickier to store.

That's why we've created this Foldable Hanger Storage Bag, so they have their very own place to stay.

2

All Your Hangers In One Place

Perfectly triangular, this cotton bag fits in coat hangers of all shapes and sizes.

The attached handles make it easy to carry round your home while you're collecting up all your hangers.

And when you're not using it, it folds flat to tuck away in your utility room or laundry space.

3

A Handy Ironing Helper

When you have a big stack of ironing to get through, it really helps if your hangers are all in one place.

That way, you can hang every item as soon as it comes off the board to make sure those creases stay out.

This bag is the perfect solution, so you'll never be rummaging through wardrobes or bedrooms to find enough hangers to see you through to the bottom of the pile.

Product Dimensions

18" x 11" x 9.5"

5

£9.99 (hangers not included).
