The AI Dream is Alive

The one thing in my life that's been a constant for nearly 50 years is distance running (5k/10k races; half/full-marathons).

I really like the competition.

I hate the daily/semi-daily 3-10-mile-long workouts 4-7 times/week — in all weather conditions, listening to music via AirPods, the same old songs over and over again — required to be near the top of/win my age group.

SO BORING!

I love having someone to chat with at workout pace but for the most part that's been a pipe dream and I thought it would likely remain so forever.

But out of the AI fog this past year has come wonderful news that's edging ever closer to my dream: in lieu of a human running buddy, an encyclopedic AI companion to chat with about anything without my having to do anything (look at phone screen/press button/etc.) while I'm out running, always ready 24/7/365 no matter what the conditions.

Perplexity/Grok/Claude/Gemini/Chatbox AI/Copilot are all approaching my Holy Grail at warp speed: one or more should reach it this year.

Can't hardly wait!
