I knew I had seen a wind speed indicator windsock in my past. My dad was a pilot. I think he explained this to me. One day I was asking the question of windsocks to a guy at the airport. He had no clue. Or perhaps did not want to converse? Who knows. But it is good to know I did not dream this up. Thanks, Stirt!
